Tasting Notes
Classic year where a small crop led to big flavor. Think a mid-summer fruit salad, heavy on the nectarines and melon with a drizzle of lemon juice and Grand Marnier on top. In the mouth the early season is evident with refreshing acidity backed by pear, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Barrel fermentation and nine months of aging in French oak (25% new) have added a touch of toasty richness and a hint of honey to this elegant Chardonnay.

Vineyard Notes
The year started with significant rainfall which made for a late start. Being two weeks behind had growers nervous and then a significant heat event in July caught things up. The heat event stopped the canopy growth at an ideal height without causing any damage to the fruit because of how early it was in the season. In fact, it hastened harvest by reducing berry sizing leading to a smaller more intensely flavored crop (just like in a drought year). The early harvest was warmly welcomed after such a late 2023 and the fruit looked exciting coming into the winery.
