Lovely perfumed fruits of plum, currant, and fig giving way to pepper, anise and perhaps a touch of Hoisin. Two years in French Oak adds hints of cardamom and Tobacco. An exceptional vintage that is already drinking well at this young age.
Deep dark aromas of ripe cherries, crushed petals, baking spices, and a hint of licorice are hard to get past on the nose. The dark color and acidity, characteristic of the variety are only outdone by the lumbering tannins.
A 1987 modified solera of zinfandel port wine. Averaging eleven years old, the Port displays aromas of baked fruit and cooking spice, along with warm, lush flavors of sweet cassis and brandied cherries.
